Bionsen

Bionsen is the UK’s leading aluminium-free and paraben-free deodorant. Unfortunately, Bionsen is a big fish in a small pond since the antiperspirant market is 40 times the size of the deodorant market. Growth would have to come from persuading people to switch from antiperspirants. Our challenge was to convince people that sweating is not only normal but better.

Let Your Pits Breathe

Rather than going toe-to-toe with the big antiperspirant brands, we focused on the people who were already open to change—outdoor types, the health-conscious, yogis, environmentalists. Audiences already choosing a more natural way of living.

Our message? You don’t need to block your body—just the odour. Sweating is how we cool down, detox, and reset. Bionsen doesn’t fight that—it works with it.

The campaign centred around a simple, powerful stance: arms raised, outdoors, unapologetically free. A natural gesture that became a clear visual cue for confidence and openness.

Headline-led messaging used the language of breath, movement and nature to make space for a new conversation around sweat. Visuals placed people in wild, open landscapes—celebrating the body, not concealing it.

Art direction drew on Bionsen’s Japanese heritage, taking cues from natural thermal springs to create a calming, clean, and considered feel. The tone was bold but warm—no fear tactics, no shame. Just a simple idea, delivered with confidence.
