Vestey Holdings | Brand Film
Naturally, family businesses look back to those who came before. A family business is a huge responsibility. The foundations of Vestey Holdings date back to the 1890s. But it’s just as important that family businesses look forward, too. Building for the future matters. And this can only be done on a sound platform with strong values.
In 2017 we helped Vestey Holdings articulate and communicate its purpose. The film we created at the time focused heavily on company’s rich history, conveyed with an august tone in both words and pictures.
Come 2025, and keen to keep building for the future, Vestey Holdings wanted a new film. One that would reflect how the business has evolved and where it’s going. The brief begged a different approach. One more focused on colour. On people. On individuals.
We collaborated with CEO George Vestey to craft a an expression of their purpose that focused on the present and the future, rather than the past. Filming took us to France and Dubai as well as locations across the UK, including a trip to the YMCA in Walthamstow, where Vestey Holdings is doing a fantastic job helping homeless people find their feet. We supplemented the new footage with existing footage and a few sourced clips.
The result was more Netflix than nostalgia. First played at the AGM, the film moved some of the audience to tears. And that’s the power and connection of a family business. And a story well told.
